2021 Rockpile Vineyard
Dry Creek Valley
From The Winemaker
"Who doesn't love a lakeside view? Growing on a ridge top at 1,400 feet elevation above Lake Sonoma, Zinfandel from this vineyard has a concentration of black fruits and dark spices that's all its own." -Jennifer Higgins, VP of Winemaking + Vineyards
Tasting Notes
Located high above the Dry Creek Valley floor and overlooking Lake Sonoma, the sweeping views and red soils of Rockpile provide a landscape like no other place in Sonoma County. This iconic Zinfandel growing region yields a wine that is dark and broody and encompasses the notion of “powerful elegance”, a sought after trait from mountain fruit. The Rockpile Zinfandel is packed with beautiful flavors of blackberry, ripe pomegranate and a tinge of black pepper. Just imagine yourself in the backyard, ribeyes on the grill, tongs in one hand and a glass of this Zinfandel in the other. Ready, set, go! -Jennifer Higgins, Director of Winemaking + Vineyards
