Tasting Notes

What do you get when you let a California Winemaker play in the Bordeaux, France sandbox? The answer is a very special wine! Our 2020 Le Pont Lambert is a blend of six different vineyards from three famous grape growing regions in Bordeaux - Saint-Emilion and Pomerol on the Right Bank and Saint-Julien on the Left Bank. Le Pont means "The Bridge" in French and is a blend of 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. We wanted to make a wine that tasted distinctly French but would have a familiar feel to our Lambert Bridge reds. The flavors are round and complex with a lovely, sweet tobacco spice note and rich, ripe fruit. Velvety and complex, there is a softness and silkiness to this wine that is just delicious. We highly recommend cellaring this extraordinary "once in a lifetime" wine for 15-20 years if you have the patience - it'll just keep getting better with time!
