Tasting Notes

Introducing the wine, the myth, the legend! Our long-time members of Lambert Bridge know this highly sought-after wine is typically gone in a flash due to its rare appearance. Petit Merle, translated to "Little Black Bird" in French, is what we often refer to as the "sassy little Sister" to our Crane Creek Cuvée. Our Winemaker, Jennifer Higgins, only produces this wine when the stars align and we have enough fantastic Merlot to craft this beautiful blend.
Delightful floral aromatics of violets and rose petal envelop the glass at first swirl, followed by layered and inviting notes of pomegranate, cocoa nibs, black mountain raspberry and sweet rhubarb on the palate. This Merlot dominant blend is accompanied by 9% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Malbec giving the wine a beautiful mouthfeel and structure.
