Winery Ranch

Dry Creek Valley

100% Petite Sirah

Winemaking
Our Petite Sirah is grown in a small 1.6 acre vineyard conveniently located right across the road from the winery. Of course, this means that it receives a lot of careful attention from the winemakers which is evident from the very first sip.

The dense, tightly packed clusters of Petite Sirah hold small black berries which give this wine its intense, deep color. The high percentage of whole-berry fermentation gives layers of complexity without over-extraction of tannins. Careful handling of the grapes between the vineyard and the tank are essential in producing the “gentle giant” of our red wine portfolio.

Winemakers’ Notes
Aromas of black currant and spice make way for a lingering floral nose. With one swirl, the 2010 Petite Sirah invites you to bask in its bright red fruit and ease into its silky tannins. Open this beauty now and enjoy the density of flavor and structure, or age for five to seven years for an even smoother finish.
