Winery Ranch

Dry Creek Valley

100% Petite Sirah

Location, location, location!

Our entire Petite Sirah program is from a small 1.6 acre vineyard conveniently located right across the street from the winery. Of course, this means that it receives a lot of careful attention from the winemakers which is obvious to everyone from the very first sip.

The small, tightly packed clusters of Petite Sirah hold small black berries which give this wine it’s intense, amazing color. The high percentage of whole berry fermentation gives layers of complexity without over extraction of tannins. Careful handling of the grapes between the vineyard and the tank and attention to pressing, are essential in producing the “gentle giant” of our red wine program.

The 2008 Petite Sirah is inky black in color with sweet, powerful tannins and serious, dark fruit. Like a flower opening, decanting prior to serving releases aromas of black plum, truffles, and exotic spices and allows the complexity of this wine to shine.
