Bevill Vineyard

Dry Creek Valley

100% Viognier

Our smallest release of Viognier ever, the 2010 vintage is packed with concentrated flavors and represents one of our best expressions of this rare Rhone varietal. Harvested from the Bevill Vineyard less than 3 miles from the winery, our winemaking team personally supervised the pick in the vineyard. They next carefully hand sorted the fruit on the cluster sorting table, to ensure that only the best clusters made it to the press. The fruit was whole cluster pressed and fermented in a combination of new, one, and two year old water-bent French oak barrels from the Dargaud et Jaegle cooperage in Burgundy. This Viognier showcases brilliant fruit and bright acidity as it first tickles the tongue and finishes with a mouthwatering sweet toasty oak richness.

From the first swirl, aromatics of apple pie, cinnamon spice, lemon blossom, and Bosc pears encourage the first sip….and WOW, we really like how this wine finishes. Hints of baked peach and a nice round finish leaves you wishing there was more than just 328 cases of this special vintage. Sorry, but we expect this wine club favorite to sell out fast!

Some of our favorite pairings with a Viognier this luscious and rich in texture include oysters on the half shell and spicy Thai shrimp.
