Lambert Bridge is pleased to introduce our first ever Dry Creek Valley vineyard designated Viognier. We have been working with vineyard owner Duff Bevill for a number of vintages and could not be more pleased with the quality of fruit and his commitment to excellence. Because of the extremely high quality and consistent fruit character from Duff’s vineyard, we have awarded the 2008 vintage with a vineyard designation.
Our Viognier is stainless steel fermented to 5 brix and is then transferred into combination of new, one and two year old French oak barrels to complete its fermentation and aging. These barrels are crafted by the able hands of artisan cooper Darguard et Jaegle. Using only carefully air-dried wood and a unique water-bending technique for shaping the barrels, the DJ barrel allows all of the lush fruit of the Viognier to shine through while adding rich notes of sweet oak and spice to the aromas and flavors.
Lively flavors defined by orange blossom, Asian pear and peach are artfully matched with bright acids and textures that lead to a silky long finish.
As always Viognier is a great wine to serve with food at any meal, Brunch included. We recommend this vintage served with Thai shrimp salad or Teleme and Prosciutto pizza.
