“The weather in 2012 made growing grapes a pleasure. We saw good fruit set early on and high quality fruit at harvest. This vineyard is pristinely farmed with clusters of Zinfandel hanging like ornaments on the vine – an ideal way to grow this variety, providing dappled sunlight and airflow to the grapes.”
– Jennifer Higgins, Winemaker
Our 2012 Forchini Vineyard Zinfandel has fruit forward aromas of black cherry, black currant and lingonberry that are interlaced with delicate oak and spice notes. The mouthfeel is lively, soft and balanced with well integrated tannins, making this Lambert Bridge staple an age-worthy wine.
The Forchini Vineyard is part of the famed Dry Creek Benchland, an area with rocky and well-draining soils well known for producing high quality Zinfandel. We work closely with the Forchinis, who have farmed this vineyard for generations, to cultivate exceptional fruit. We pick from two small blocks with different and complimentary attributes, giving us the foundation to create a wine with complexity, balance and structure.
