Healdsburg, CA—Lambert Bridge announced today that Mike Gilfillan, former co-chair of the YankeeNets and former Co-owner of the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils, will assume leadership of the Dry Creek Valley winery known for its elegant Bordeaux-style red wines. Gilfillan is the son-in-law of Lambert Bridge owners Patti and Ray Chambers.
He will assume the responsibilities of retiring CEO Greg Wilcox who announced he would step down effective November 1st. Wilcox has been at the helm since 2005 and is widely credited as the architect of the strategy that led the winery through a groundbreaking re-birth and elevation of the brand while building a professional team from the ground up.
“I am deeply grateful to Greg and wish him a well-deserved retirement. I am happy with what we have accomplished together over the last several years with the quality improvements in both our wine and our guest experience. I am very pleased that he has agreed to remain as Vice Chairman of our Board of Directors,” said owner Patti Chambers.
The heralded winemaking duo of industry veterans Jill Davis and Jennifer Higgins will remain in place continuing the transformation that began in 2005 to make Lambert Bridge wines widely respected for exceptional quality, elegance and finesse. The winery was founded in 1975 and was purchased by the Chambers family in 1993 who have continued to own it ever since. In 2005 they brought on Greg Wilcox as CEO and Managing Partner. Under the Chambers’ ownership and Greg’s management, Lambert Bridge has emerged as a leader by rehabilitating existing and acquiring new vineyards, retooling the winery to state-of-the-art, and keenly focusing on making truly great wine while offering a renowned level of guest service.
